"A letter to 6184 people"

A total of 10,000 V1 missiles were launched to England from Germany, most of which, probably accounting for 85%, were launched from the ground. A total of 7,488 missiles flew over the British coast, 3,957 of which may be discovered by the British and intercepted down before reaching the target. 3,531 missiles eluded the British defences with 2,419 flying to London and about 30 reaching the South Cape and Portsmouth, and one to Manchester. As a result, only about a quarter of ground-launched missiles flew to their target areas while for the air missiles, this ratio was about one-tenth.
The V1 missile caused a lot of casualties on the British side. A total of 6,184 people lost their lives. Three people were killed in every five missiles on average. As for the seriously wounded, the number came up to 17,981. I think there is nothing we can do about that sad history. Only the memorial.
